Sculpture Studio in Amagansett

This program required the design of a large sculpture studio addition to an existing house and studio on a lovely undulating parcel in Amagansett. To retain the view of the deep woods a lower level studio was carved into the hillside. An existing terrace was extended onto the new studio roof which is structured to handle heavy point loads allowing the artist to choose where to locate her large metal sculptures. Individual paver stones can be replaced with green roof trays for plantings if desired The simple industrial quality of the studio stands in stark contrast to the soaring and elegant reflective stainless steel sculptures upon the roof.
